So in case you’ve lost track of time, Sonorus happens THIS SATURDAY! If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, what are you waiting for? CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE FUN. And feel free to click through the rest of this site to remind yourself about the schedule, familiarize yourself with the bands and just generally get excited. It’s going to be a really fantastic time, and we can’t wait to see you all there.
Due to a computer glitch, the hotel reservations made for the Sonorus room block did not get carried over to the new concert date. Don’t worry – your rooms are still available, and at the same sweet rate, but you’ll need to reconfirm your reservation with the Courtyard Marriott so that they know you’re coming. The Sales Manager’s name is Christine Fehd, and her direct line at the hotel is (703) 584-2144. She’s very helpful and will ensure that everything is squared away for your visit.
If you want a more verbose explanation of this, check out our hotel page. And if you’ve got questions, don’t hesitate to e-mail matt.bufford@gmail.com – we’re sorry for the confusion on this.
Looking forward to seeing you next weekend!
It’s crazy how time has flown. It feels like only a week ago that D.C. was buried under feet of snow and we were scrambling to reschedule Sonorus. Well, the weather is warmer now and the new date for Sonorus is almost upon us!
We have made a few changes since rescheduling, and we’re pleased to be able to share them with you. Click through the site for the updated band list (we’re lucky to have added some fantastic names to the mix!) and a shiny new schedule. And if you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, what are you waiting for?
If you have questions about anything, or are making a press inquiry, feel free to e-mail kendallgrace@gmail.com or matt.bufford@gmail.com and we’ll get in touch with you as soon as we’re able.
We’ve been working very hard to prepare for Sonorus 2010, and we know you’re going to have a fantastic time. See you in a few short weeks!
Everybody’s been asking about the impending snowstorm, and things are looking grim in the DC area. To keep everybody safe, we’re rescheduling Sonorus for May 29, 2010. It will still take place at Jammin’ Java in Vienna, VA. The band list may change slightly, but we’ll keep you posted on any and all changes and updates.
Tickets that are already purchased will be good for the new date. New tickets will continue to go on sale until May 29 or until they are sold out. If you can’t attend the new date, tickets can be resold to someone else. Also, if you’ve already reserved a hotel room with our group rate at the Courtyard Marriott, that will automatically transfer over to the May 29th date as well.
We’ve done everything we can to make this transition as smooth as possible, but if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re totally committed to making Sonorus one of the most awesome wizard rock events ever!
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience, and we look forward to seeing you in May. Stay safe and enjoy the snow.

The full schedule is posted as well, so check it out.
Can’t wait to rock out with you!
We’re in the process of updating the website with the final information about Sonorus. If you have questions that haven’t yet been answered, leave a comment and I’ll be sure to give you the information you need. We’re looking forward to seeing you in February!
In the meantime, check out the new pages on the website for full information about the fourteen bands rocking the stage, the awesome venue we’ll be taking over, hotel accommodations and more.
We are pleased to announce that tickets to Sonorus, one of 2010′s largest wizard rock events have gone on sale today! Tickets will be sold for $20, and can be purchased through Jammin’ Java’s website. As it is a fairly small music venue, Jammin’ Java has limited the number of tickets we are able to sell to this event. Because of this fact, it is highly recommended that you purchase your tickets as soon as possible, as there is a good chance this show will sell out.
To purchase your tickets, go to this link to purchase tickets, and follow the instructions there.
On February 6, 2010, wizards and muggles will unite to rock out in Vienna, Virginia at a big wizard rock concert we’re calling Sonorus.
Sonorus will be Virginia’s first day-long wizard rock festival, bringing in nearly a dozen bands from all over the east coast. The show will be held at Jammin’ Java, a fantastic and well-respected venue not far from Washington, D.C.
We are pleased to announce that the following bands will be performing at Sonorus:
Madame Pince and the Librarians
Lauren Fairweather (of the Moaning Myrtles)
Justin Finch Fletchly and the Sugar Quills
Ticket information and a complete schedule will be available soon. Also, look out for additional bands to possibly be added to the line-up, and in the meantime, be sure to mark February 6 on your calendar and plan to party with us here in Virginia. We’ll see you there!
